BFS Seniors Earn Acceptance to 92 Colleges

The month of April is known not only for taxes and rain showers; it’s also the season of college acceptances for graduating high school seniors. This year, BFS is pleased to announce acceptances for members of the Class of 2007 to 92 colleges across the United States and abroad.

“One of the interesting observations I have made each year about our students’ choices in applying to colleges is that they invariably reflect a deep consideration of self—‘who I am and which college is a good choice for me,’” said Dori Dietz, Director of College Counseling. “This year is no different. The diversity of college acceptances for the BFS Class of 2007 is quite unusual for an urban East Coast independent school, and is a tribute to Brooklyn Friends and our students. The preliminary list includes 92 colleges where seniors have been accepted, including three Ivies (and three students), Stanford, and numerous other excellent schools.”

Dori continued, “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all of the upper school faculty and others who have made this year such a success for the Class of 2007. Many of our teachers and other members of our community have known some of our seniors since preschool and have come to know other members of the class in the lower, middle or upper divisions. The ongoing support of the faculty, staff and administration has been, and will continue to be, invaluable to our students.”
