Technology at BFS

At Brooklyn Friends School, technology is an essential element of teaching and learning, and using technology effectively is a way of life for our students, faculty and staff.

The Technology Department is led by Director Greg George, an experienced network administrator, teacher and administrator who is well-known in the field.

The Technology Department comprises the Director of Technology, the Head Librarian/Chair of the Library Department, three Library media specialists, three Technology Integrators for the Preschool/Lower, Middle and Upper School divisions, the Network Manager,  Technical Specialist, and the Technical Theater Director.

The technology team works closely with all facets of the school administration and the faculty in all divisions to implement and support the administrative and instructional technology resources that are vital to achieving the school's mission. The department provides instructional technology, training and support to faculty and staff to strengthen the academic program and enhance student engagement in learning.

The Technology is responsible for the school's intranet, which provides all members of the BFS community with important technological resources, such as Google Apps for BFS, Atomic Learning, BrainPop, TypingMaster online, IndyKids online, and Haiku (an online course management system). The intranet also has blogs for Preschool and Lower School classes, and adds new photo content from BFS classes every week.
