Upper School Online Admissions Checklist |

To effectively process the volume of applications, we would appreciate having your application form as soon as possible. Applications received after the deadline will be processed on a rolling basis only if spaces are available.
STEP 1: Complete the Application for Admission and Student Supplement. The Application, Student Supplement, as well as additional required forms, can be found in the Application Forms section.
STEP 2: Mail the completed forms to the BFS admissions office, together with the application fee. Be sure to include:
- application form
- student supplement (to be submitted before the interview)
- application fee of $80 (check payable to Brooklyn Friends School)

Applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011; Transcript and teacher evaluation forms are due January 9, 2012. STEP 3: Arrange interview. We will call you to arrange an interview after we receive your application. Please allow an hour for the interview. At least one parent/guardian is interviewed following the student interview. STEP 4: Submit teacher evaluation forms to current teachers and transcript request form to current school. Give teacher evaluation forms to your child’s current teachers by December 9, 2011. The English and math teacher evaluations and the transcript report are due at BFS by January 9, 2012. STEP 5: Arrange for testing with the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). Applicants for 9th through 11th grades take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). Call ERB at (212) 672-9800 as early as possible to make an appointment for testing. Be sure to list Brooklyn Friends School as a test result recipient. The ISEE Brooklyn Friends school code is 330610. Test results are due January 9, 2012. STEP 6: Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable).
If you are applying for financial aid, submit the required form to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) by December 9, 2011 and your federal tax form and any additional forms (see Tuition Assistance brochure) directly to Brooklyn Friends. Financial aid forms must be received at BFS by January 9, 2012.
Admission to Brooklyn Friends School is premised upon the following:
- Filing of the application and all supporting forms.
- Successful performance during the admissions evaluation.
- Excellent school record.
- Successful student interview and parent/ guardian interview.
- The existence of a vacancy for which, in accordance with the plan of enrollment adopted by the school, the candidate is qualified.
