On Monday, May 1st, 500 members of the Brooklyn Friends community (parents, alums, grandparents, alum parents and friends) gathered together for our annual Spring Benefit. But this was an event unlike any other. This year's Spring Benefit was part of the Tribeca Film Festival. The evening began with a private screening of the documentary "When Fried Eggs Fly," followed by questions and answers with the director and the adult and child stars of the movie. We then walked through beautiful Battery Park City where we ended up at Battery Gardens for our festive celebration. After drinks and dinner, the excitement continued with a live auction, auctioneered by PAT president Lisa Sack! The evening was a fabulous success, raising over $120,000 for Brooklyn Friends' Capital Campaign.
Brooklyn Friends at the Tribeca Film Festival on May 1st launched the community phase of our capital campaign. At the event, Tom and Sharon Kennedy, Chairs of the Capital Campaign, announced that we have raised $2 million towards our $2.8 million goal—with the proceeds of he night's event, we are now over $2.1 million!
