Craft Fair Highlights and Line-up

THE WINTER CRAFT FAIR IS NOW A HORIZONS AT BFS FUNDRAISING EVENT. 80% of proceeds go to Horizons at BFS; 20% go to PAT programs.

 
Carnival 11 am-4 pm: A bouncy house and bouncy obstacle course, many games and prizes, face painting, a puppet show and performances.

Craft Making and Child Care:  Drop your kids off while you shop, or spend time with them working on projects to create life-size paper gingerbread boys and girls; prepare dry mixes for hot chocolate, mulled cider and pancakes in decorated bags; play board games; or have fun with beading.

Scholastic Book Fair: Held in the third floor library, with a focus on preschool and lower school

Toy Drive:
Help wrap presents for children at the St. John’s Place Family Center and MercyFirst with your children. Wrapping takes place this year in the third floor conference room.

Cupcake Decorating:
One word: Yum!   

Karate Demonstration: Karate Master Howard Latting will be joined by various members of his studio, WMA Karate, located 67 Atlantic Avenue.

Hip Hop Spoken Word workshop with Franklin Rossman, afterschool and summer arts teacher

A fresh selection of gifts to make your holiday shopping interesting, new and easy.  The group this year will include BFS favorites and many new Brooklyn crafters.

Crafts and Delectables by our talented BFS parents, teachers, staff, and students: Some of the "BFS family" participating in the craft fair are Ellen Kahan (functional pottery), BFS Chef Tom Buckley (Handsome Tom's Hot Sauce), student entrepreneur T-Shirt artist Jake Nager, Jennifer Knies (felt-made hats and accessories), Ginny Terry (knitted hats), Sandy Hartsmanngruber and Margaret Trissel (knitted hats and art reproductions), and parent Tad Hills and Family (Duck and Goose children's books and other hand-made accessories and t-shirts)

Memberships and passes from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Children’s Museum and a subscription drive for TimeOut NY with a percentage going to Horizons at BFS.

Donation Certificates for Horizons (help teach kids about giving during the holidays) paired with the 2008 publication “Children of Our World Having Fun.”
