Lower School Celebrates World Read Aloud Day |
| |
|
Join the lower school in celebrating the power of words!
On March 9th, we will celebrate World Read Aloud Day, sponsored by
LitWorld, a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving global
literacy through advocacy, education and access. Each classroom will
participate in special reading activities spend some time reflecting on
the idea that reading and writing are rights for all people and that
literacy can create an important transformative power. There are many
ways that you can celebrate with your children at home, through LitWorld's Facebook event, or take a trip to Times Square for the 24-hr Read Aloud Marathon! For more info, please visit www.litworld.org.
What is your family's favorite book?
Join the lower school by making a donation of your family's favorite
children's book to support family literacy workshops being held at
Harlem Children's Zone. Please make your donations to any of the drop
boxes located on the 6th & 7th floors near the elevator doors. Donations will be accepted until March 18th! |
