BFS Hosts Collaborative Planning Workshop
POCIS-NY
People of Color in Independent Schools – NY
&
ISDN
Independent School Diversity Network

invite you to participate in a

Collaborative Planning Workshop
for faculty/staff/admin and parents in our networks

Monday, May 23rd – 5:30-7:30pm
Brooklyn Friends
375 Pearl Street (in downtown Brooklyn)

Faculty, staff and administrators often lack adequate opportunities to collaborate on programming and other diversity initiatives with parents. This interactive workshop is designed to provide such an opportunity and to help participants:

    •    begin to lay the groundwork for an event or program for the following year
    •    share strategies and ideas with teachers and parents from other schools
    •    seek and gain support and valuable feedback from other participants

Although there is no limit to the number of representatives from each school, we recommend sending at least one faculty/staff/admin and at least one parent who is active in diversity at your school. Parent and school representatives will ideally come with some preliminary ideas about a project or program they will focus on. The work process will be guided with the help of a facilitator.

For more info and to RSVP by Wednesday, May 18 please send the following information to BFS faculty members Claudia Lewis or Yuval Ortiz-Quiroga.
  • Your name and role (i.e., teacher, admin, parent, etc.)
  • Topic(s) that you wish to focus on at the workshop (i.e., planning an assembly, organizing a student group, etc.)

 Refreshments will be served
