On Tuesday the BFS Girls Varsity Volleyball Team started the season with a great team win over SIA 2-0 (25-21, 21-17) at Staten Island.  After shaking off a few early nerves, the team settled down and we took control of the match.  Everyone contributed in the victory.  Captains Amaris B., Katie C. combined for 11 assists, 6 digs, and 5 aces; Jessica C. led the way with her defense adding 6 digs.  Middle hitters/blockers Becky G. and Chloe B. showed promise with their net play, combining for 3 kills and 1 block.  Erin C., Anna M., Herron H., and Sarah M. added 10 digs and consistent overall play.  Blue Pride!!

On Wednesday the BFS Girls Varsity Volleyball Team picked up their second of the season win over BC 2-1 in the upper gym.  The team played a close match, winning in three sets (25-19,18-25,25-18).  The girls looked more in sync with the new rotation; again, everyone contributed.  Amaris B., Katie C., and Becky G. combined for 16 kills.  Katie and Amaris also combined for 16 assists, as well as 10 digs; Katie added 5 serving aces.  Jessica C., Herron H., Erin C., Sarah M., and Anna M. played great defense, combining for 31 digs.  Chloe B. added 2 aces and 1 kill...Way to go team!!

The BFS Girls JV Volleyball Team also picked up a victory over BC 2-0 (25-19, 25-16) in the upper gym.  The team played very well together and kept the momentum going by their aggressiveness on both offense and defense. With consistent serving and tight defense we won the match in 2 sets.  Returning players, Tyler C., Sofia S., Simret H., & Isabelle M. helped lead the team to victory and were awesome role models for the 9th graders, Fiona S., Karie M., Sage M., Christeline V., Michelle L., and Bianca R.  Great job JV.  Keep it up!!!
