BFS Alum and Coach To Play Pro Soccer Game in NY

Currently a forward for the Richmond Kickers of the United Soccer League’s professional circuit, Edson Elcock scored the go-ahead goal on June 12 in a 2-0 victory over FC New York at St. John’s University. Elcock will be back in the tri-state area tomorrow night, when the Kickers visit FC New York again, this time at Adelphi University’s Motamed Field.

Brooklyn Friends senior Kieran Newcomb, fresh off his second NYSAIS State Championship in the 800 meters in as many years, has qualified for and will compete in next Friday’s New York Federation Championships in Caledonia, N.Y.  The Federation Meet pits the best public, private, and Catholic school athletes in the state.

"Kieran Newcomb placed well on Monday with a fast qualifying time at the Indoor Track Meet @ 168th Street Armory Kieran Newcomb finished 2nd in the 1000 meter run at the Ivy League meet on Monday.  His time currently places him in the top 10 runners in the state in that event."
