Highlights from the Week of Oct. 31, 2011 |

11/3/11
On Wednesday the BFS MS Soccer team wrapped up the
season with a 3-0
win over BHMS down at Red Hook. The win was their eleventh of the
season. The team was led by goals from eighth grader Noah W.
and twin brothers Sam F. and Ben F. (7th grade). The future is bright
with seventh graders Charlie S., who had two more assists, and Halima M., who had another one. This was one of the best BFS MS Soccer
teams ever. See you next year on the pitch. Blue Pride!!
The
BFS Girls Varsity Volleyball team participated in the NYSAISAA
Volleyball Tournament. The team took on Horace Mann on their campus.
We lost 0-3 (16-25,14-25,20-25). We
played hard, but Horace Mann was much stronger, dominating at the net with
taller players and solid servers, who could spike, block and serve tough. Its
was a true "David" vs. Goliath" match, with BFS having 175 students in
its high school, and Horace Mann having 175 per grade. Overall, we
played consistently but lost focus during some
crucial parts of the match. It was
a good learning experience for our team and athletic program to observe how we
compare with the most competitive programs in New York State! The girls finished
up this great season with a 15-4 overall record. See you next year on
the court. Blue Pride!! |
