What You Need to Know about Metrocards |
|
Metrocards All K-12 students eligible for NYC Metrocards receive the cards from their homeroom teacher/advisor on the first day of school. Eligibility is determined by the NYC Department of Education based on grade and distance from home to school. (See chart). Hopstop.com (walking distance) is used by the DOE to determine distance (not mapquest or google). This year's 3rd and 7th graders may find that their Metrocard status has changed from full fare to half fare as they moved up a grade. Any questions should be referred to Cheryl Foote at the 375 Pearl Street front desk.
