Tuesday, November 22
• Kindergarten and First Grade Thanksgiving Program, 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
• Second, Third and Fourth Grade Thanksgiving Program, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Our traditional Thanksgiving Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22 in the Brooklyn Friends Meeting House at 110 Schermerhorn Street (corner of Boerum Place). We will gather as a Lower School community to hear songs our children have been learning in music class, to sing songs together, and to join in Quaker Silence. This year, we will have two programs, one for Kindergarten and First Grade and another for Second - Fourth Grade.
1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Kindergarten and First Grade Program
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Second, Third, and Fourth Grade Program
After the K & 1 assembly at 1:30 p.m., students can be dismissed from the Meeting House to their families or a designated adult. Those remaining will return to school and be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. from the lobby. After the 2 - 4 program, children will be dismissed to their families or designated adult. The Afterschool program will operate as usual. Please let your child and his/her teachers know your plans for going home ahead of time. (Parents attending the 2 - 4 program may bring a younger K/1 sibling to the program if you feel he/she will be able to sit for the hour. Children must sit with their adult).
As a Lower School, we love the tradition of coming together in the Meeting House right before the Thanksgiving break. This space provides a beautiful setting for reflection. We hope you will make every effort to join us at this very special BFS event, however, because seating is limited, we ask that no more than two adults attend from each family The Meeting House will open at 12:30 p.m. for the first program and at 1:40 p.m. for the second program. Please do not arrive prior to that time; and we ask that you not save seats.
