Lower Schoolers “Journey with Sound” Last week, the Lower School welcomed Darius Kaufmann (right) of “Journeys with Sound” to BFS. Darius presented and played a wide variety of instruments from around the world. He also gave students time to explore and experiment with some of the instruments, which included crystal singing bowls, an Australian didgeridoo, a Chinese gong, and an Aztec wind whistle. Third graders learned new ways to play traditional Native American flutes that they have been using in music class this year. A highlight of this workshop was Darius teaching the third graders a simple Native American melody. With smiles on their faces, students agreed that this program definitely hit a high note.
