Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark

The lights were turned low in the Pearl Street Meeting House. Monstrous Jack-o-lanterns glared from the corners of the room. Creepy music began and the 4th grade class, clad in black suits and ghostly white masks, flooded the stage to perform for a packed house of kids and parents.

The annual 4th Grade Halloween Dance Performance, overseen by head of college guidance Dori Dietz, thrilled and chilled the audience again this year. Dietz organized the making of the variety of masks worn in the performances—including the white papier maché masks the 9th graders helped them make last week—and also arranged the choreography for the 38 goblins.
