of the Moon

If you happened to be staring at the full moon on Saturday, November
8th, you might have witnessed something absolutely astronomical. “It
was a fabulous night: clear and cold,” said science department
chair Janet Villas. The astronomical event, a full lunar
eclipse, began at 6:30, reached its peak around 8:00, and was over
by 8:30. If you missed the eclipse, stop by the 4th floor and check
out the bulletin board display Villas has created using her 8th
grade earth science and astronomy classes’ time-lapse photos
(some of which are shown below) and hand-drawn diagrams of the
event.
We’re due for another full lunar eclipse in May.
