Bridge
Film Festival a Cinematic Sensation!
On Saturday, April 16, nearly 200 student filmmakers, together
with their advisors, families, and friends, crowded into the BFS
Meeting House for the sixth annual Bridge Film Festival, a celebration
of films that depict Quaker values in action. A highlight of the
evening was a conversation with filmmaker Shola Lynch, director
of “CHISHOLM ’72: Unbought and Unbossed,” a documentary
about Shirley Chisholm’s run for the presidency in 1972.
Lynch took questions from student filmmakers and showed a clip
from her documentary.
The “best of” winners are as follows:
Best Upper School Short film—Virginia Beach Friends School
Best Middle School Short film—Delaware Valley Friends
School
Best Upper School Public Service Announcement—Friends
Academy
Best Middle School Public Service Announcement—Friends

all over the United States came to the festival with their

the 12 finalist films.
Bridge Film Festival director Andy Cohen
takes a question for featured filmmaker Shola Lynch, who
reminded students that “…values in filmmaking
are just as important as any other element in the process.”
A distinguished panel of judges carefully considered
each film and presented their findings at the end of the
screening. Judges included Joe Vinciguerra, Steven Huang,
Annette Kudrak and Zed Saeed. |
