BFS Families Invited to
Screening of “Close Harmony” on May 20
Parents, students, faculty and friends are invited to attend a
special screening of the Academy Award-winning film, “Close
Harmony,” made at Brooklyn Friends School 25 years
ago. The screening will take place at Homecoming on Saturday, May
20. Alum parent Nigel Noble’s Oscar® winning documentary
chronicles the work of the Intergenerational Chorus (brainchild
of music teacher Arlene Symons), bringing together BFS students
and seniors from the Council Center for Senior Citizens of the
National Council for Jewish Women-Brooklyn Section). This wonderful
project brought a combination of joy, friendship, and music into
the lives of BFS students and Brooklyn senior citizens.
The film will be screened at 4 pm. (Please call ahead at 718-852-1029,
ext. 208 to confirm time.) The Art Show will also be open on Saturday
from 3 to 5 pm in the Lower Gym.
