Upper
School Thespians Stage Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible”
Set in 1692 with age-old themes of fear, desire, conformity and
greed, The Crucible was performed by 16 focused and talented
upper school students on January 25 and 26. The actors dressed
in simple costumes and the production utilized contemporary, mechanized
music, adding to the appeal of the play. A parable of the anti-communist
McCarthy era in the 1950s, The Crucible remains, in 2007, a frightening
story in which lies are rewarded and the truth is condemned.
