Two Challenges
This Month Mean Even More for the Brooklyn Friends Fund!
People often ask why it is important to give to the Brooklyn Friends
Fund… “What difference can my small gift make?” As
in every other community endeavor, the more individuals who support
a project, the more successful it will be. Some of the donors,
corporations and foundations who consider the school for donations
look to see how well those people close to the school support it.
The fact that our families, alums, faculty and friends give to
the Brooklyn Friends Fund, at any level, means that we all believe
in its purpose and the program that BFS is offering our children.
The FIRST Challenge
To encourage our parents to participate in the Brooklyn Friends
Fund, alum Mark Zauderer ’63 has offered a challenge to
our parents that runs through June 11th.
- For every grade that reaches 80% participation
by May 29th,
Mark will donate $1,000 to the Brooklyn Friends Fund.
- For every grade that reaches 80% participation
by June 11th,
Mark will donate $500 to the Brooklyn Friends Fund.
Last year, we had a record breaking 74% participation by our parents!
Families in eight of the grades met or exceeded a similar challenge
raising an additional $5,000 for the Brooklyn Friends Fund! While
we do need to reach our financial goal (this year it’s $435,000)
we ask that every family give what they can. A smaller gift counts
exactly the same as a larger one when we are looking at participation
numbers! See your grade’s participation below.
The SECOND Challenge
If you have not made your gift to the Brooklyn Friends
Fund this year, May 21 through May 25 is the time to do it! A generous
BFS family has offered a $50 contribution for every gift that
is received during this week! Your gift must be at the same level
of your gift last year or at least $100 (whichever is more).
This is an amazing opportunity for us to increase our overall
numbers, so please take advantage of it and make
your gift!
If you aren’t sure if you have made your gift to the Brooklyn
Friends Fund, please contact the Development Office at (718)852-1029
