Countdown to the Holiday Craft Fair, Saturday,
December 1
There’s going to be a Holiday Craft Fair at
Brooklyn Friends School this Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and by
all accounts it’s going to be another fun and fabulous extravaganza
for children and families. Proceeds from the fair benefit curricular
enrichment at BFS.
Armies of craft vendors are readying their handmade wares, and
bands of bakers are cooking hundreds of cupcakes. Parents and students
have volunteered for dozens of jobs, and the gym will be filled with
bouncy rides, carnival games and performers. The Library will be
hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, and holiday plants and wreaths will
be on sale. Everyone who comes to the fair is encouraged to bring
a new holiday toy for an infant, child, or teen as part of the annual
6th grade toy drive to benefit St. Johns Place Family Center and
MercyFirst Foster Care.

The Craft Fair also includes Carnival Games in the upper gym from
11 am to 4 pm. Get ready for the Bouncer Castle, Wizard Bounce, Face
Painting, Spin Art, Ring Toss, Monster Stomp and a Giant Obstacle
Course, other games and entertainment.
Another holiday fair favorite is lunch in the cafeteria, with lots
of homemade favorites, a Bake Sale and Cupcake Decorating from 10
am to 4 pm.
Childcare for shopping parents (30 minutes per session) will also
be available: Preschoolers (1–4 pm); K–4th Grade (10
am–5 pm).
An event of this magnitude could not take place without volunteers.
The Committee has many more slots to fill and asks for all interested
parents to sign up in the Pearl Street lobby this week. |
