Fair a Huge Success Thanks to Community’s Volunteerism
BFS was definitely the place to be this past Saturday. Our Annual
Crafts Fair was a huge success: the lower gym was filled to capacity
with vendors; we sold out of poinsettias and wreaths; barely any
of the children’s crafts were left at the end of the day; and
the upper gym rang with laughter as our kids (and some adults) climbed
the obstacle course. We heard wonderful jazz music courtesy of our
talented upper school students and ate delicious meals and treats
prepared by our very own families. Who could ask for more?
LOADS of photos below!
Special thanks are due to Trente Miller for solely
organizing the Carnival Games in the upper gym, to Joan Martin for
her assistance with publicity including posters, the event brochure
and surprising us with the outdoor banner, to Helene Benedetti for
designing our beautiful poster, to Erin Kelly for
coordinating food for hungry shoppers, to Sara Soll for
organizing the children's crafts, to Susan Antoniou for
coordinating the bake sale, to Janette O'sullivan for
procuring the lovely holiday plants, to Carla Precht for
organizing the Toy Drive, to Mary Frost, Marisa Farina, and Tara
Gustafson for their assistance with both internal and external
publicity, to Adam Sturm for creating (and hanging)
the first BFS outdoor event banners, to our cafeteria staff for
preparing the food and serving those hungry shoppers, to Mike
Pellechio for his financial know-how, and to the entire maintenance
staff for their hard work and long hours spent assisting
us before, during and after the event.
We are especially grateful to our PAT Co-Presidents John
Major and Toukie Smith for their unfailing
assistance and support, and the many families and students listed
below (over 120!) who cooked, baked, put up posters, staffed the
games, sold tickets, ran the food concessions, wrapped gifts, and
helped with set up and clean up. We couldn't have done it without
all of you.
