Thanks to all who participated in the Family Day of Service April 19—see photos in @BFS!

This year’s PAT AFRICAN-AMERICAN CELEBRATION was a spirited look back on the music and dance of the Harlem Renaissance.

THE 21st ANNIVERSARY CONCERT, "Dinosaurs, Dolphins & Friends" was a fun-filled success—thanks to all the friends who made it possible!

Thank you to the many families, faculty and friends who donated books to the annual PROJECT CICERO drive, which builds classroom libraries in NYC public schools. Your efforts resulted in our collecting 8 large cartons of books for the program.

Looking for ways to support BFS? Then think about SCHOOLPOP! Simply register at www.schoolpop.com. With every purchase you make through Schoolpop, you earn a contribution for BFS (up to 36%). And want to know how to earn even more contributions for Brooklyn Friends School? Simply register for a Schoolpop Visa credit card and earn a 1% contribution on every purchase you make, no matter where you make it. You can even "double dip" when you shop online with Schoolpop merchants. You'll earn merchant contributions on each purchase in addition to the 1% contribution you earn when you use your Schoolpop Visa credit card! Since we started the program in late 2004, we've earned close to $5000 in contributions to support PAT programs. Hundreds of merchants participate, so you are sure to find one that you'd be doing business with anyway! You can apply online at www.schoolpop.com or by calling 1-800-297-1286 (mention Schoolpop). After you receive your Schoolpop VISA card, register it at www.schoolpop.com (in the My Card—My Account section), so that we start earning contributions from your purchases. And thanks to all the families who already support BFS every time they shop.

Get involved with PAT! Our 2007/08 volunteer form lists the many rewarding opportunities to participate in PAT planning and activities—have a look, and fill it out, or use our online volunteer form.

Even though just by being parents of students attending Brooklyn Friends we are all automatically members of the PAT, an Executive Committee is in place to direct the functions and liaise with the School. To that end, we present the roster of Executive Committee officers and Committee Chairs for the 2007-2008 school year!

PAT DIVERSITY COMMITTEE Mission

The PAT Diversity Committee is dedicated to promoting and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of the Brooklyn Friends School community.

The PAT Diversity Committee supports the school’s mission to value the unique identity of each individual by celebrating and nurturing diversity in all its forms (race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, ability/disability, ethnicity and family structure).

The PAT Diversity Committee will work in collaboration with the Faculty, Administration, Staff and Students to deepen understanding of and compassion towards one another and foster our growth as global citizens committed to equity and justice.
