Dinosaurs, Dolphins and Friends -- What Fun!

Not only did everyone have a fantastic time at Dinosaurs, Dolphins and Friends on April 10, but the event raised $1,800. The letter from Sara Soll (below) demonstrates the impact the concert has had over the past 24 years and shares how this year's funds will benefit the school. The PAT is sincerely grateful to Sara and Tony Soll for their many years of devotion and support.

Hello to all,

Tony and I have enjoyed seeing the results of the Green Committee's vision to plant, grow and use the results in ways that directly connect to all our students. The Woolly Pockets (thanks to Megan's proposal and guidance) on the roof will be exciting to see grow and start to impact upon the community. (And we enjoyed getting our hands dirty planting.)

 With the hope that this idea, and more to come will continue to impact upon our students from Preschool to Upper School, we would like to dedicate this year's funds to the ongoing Greening of the school.

The concert's 24 years has given $36,123 in total to the PAT. This money has been always been used in ways that directly connected to our students and teachers in the classrooms. This project truly exemplifies this goal.  And it should be noted that without the support and help of so many parents over these years, the concert would not have been as successful as it has been.  Thank you to all.

We are very grateful to all the people in this community who never fail to volunteer and help make this event what it is. This includes friends who have no connection to BFS beyond us, to students both current and those who continue to return and to the many terrific parents. We could never do this without all of them.

Still Singing After All These Years

"Dinosaurs, Dolphins & Friends" Family Concert on Sunday April 10, 2011

Sing and celebrate on Sunday, April 10 at 2 pm, when Tony Soll and his musical friends take another turn under the lights for the 23rd Anniversary Concert of Dinosaurs, Dolphins & Friends. An annual fundraiser for curricular enrichment at Brooklyn Friends School, the concert takes place at 375 Pearl Street. Tickets are $10 each, with a family package of $35 for four or more. Refreshments will be sold. To date, the annual event has raised $40,000 for BFS.

“We’ll perform lots of the old favorites, many of which are originals,” says Tony, a songwriter, musician, and Brooklyn Friends teacher and parent of two alumni. “As always, the tunes are high energy. They encourage all manner of participation, including call and responses, lot of clapping, animal noises, making faces, and jumping up and down in your seat. There’ll be plenty of laughs and giggles.”

Tickets may be purchased at the door. They are $10 each and $35 for families of four or more. Refreshments will be sold.
