Alumni

Alumni Community

All former BFS students are members of our Alumni Association. Students who did not graduate from Brooklyn Friends are considered alumni non grad and are equally important members to our alumni community.

Alumni Office

The Brooklyn Friends School Alumni/ae Office connects our alumni community with the school and with each other. We host a variety of activities and events each year to appeal to our community’s broad range of interests. As members of our Alumni Association, you will hear about upcoming events via email and/or in the mail. All events are also posted here on our website as well as on our school calendar, and we’d love for you to join us.

We encourage you to browse our calendar and attend current school events, too! Join us for our student athletic games, music, theater, and dance performances, and other community gatherings like our Net @ Night events or the annual Spring Gala.

To find out how you can get more involved, contact the Advancement Office at alum@brooklynfriends.org.

Reunion

Each year, BFS hosts a celebration in honor of our alumni community. BFS Colleagues and Friends are also invited to reconnect with our former students and enjoy the day’s activities which typically include a Quaker meeting and a cocktail reception. While everyone is encouraged to come and celebrate with their classmates, special recognition is given to our milestone reunion years from the 5th all the way to the 50th and beyond. Alums travel from near and far to reunite with one another and reminisce about the good ol’ days at Brooklyn Friends. Reunion 2024 will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 5pm at 375 Pearl Street. If you are interested in contacting your fellow classmates or organizing an after party or dinner, please contact the Advancement Office at alum@brooklynfriends.org.

Reunion Giving

What better way to celebrate your reunion year than to give a gift that honors your class’ legacy? Reunion giving at BFS represents a commitment to our school and a way for your class to directly impact the culture of our community for years to come. The best way to show your appreciation for the education you received, is to help provide future generations with the same academic, athletic and extracurricular opportunities that make Brooklyn Friends so special. To give in honor of your class year, please visit https://brooklynfriends.org/giving.

The Fund for Brooklyn Friends

As alumni, there are many ways that we can honor our legacy at BFS and impact future generations.  One way to easily contribute to the culture of Brooklyn Friends, is to support the annual Fund for Brooklyn Friends.Your contribution is a vote of confidence in BFS as well as an endorsement of the quality education you received while you were here. Gifts at any level make a huge impact in our educational programming and enhance the resources available to student body, faculty and alumni communities.

Friends for a Lifetime

We are happy to help you connect with your classmates from BFS. We ask that you please email us to request contact information and only use it for individual communications of a personal, non-commercial nature. There are several ways to keep in touch & get involved!

Become a Class Agent

Class agents, as alumni leaders and BFS ambassadors, positively impact the lives of current and future students, fellow alumni, and the school community as a whole. Class agents are, first and foremost, volunteers engaged in community building for Brooklyn Friends School. They give of their time and talent to keep their fellow class members in touch with the school and with each other. Brooklyn Friends School wants connecting with classmates and BFS to be a personally rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Alumni classes have at least one class representative whose duties include keeping in touch with classmates and planning milestone reunions. You can learn more about becoming a class agent here. If you are interested in becoming a class representative or would like to contact your class rep, please contact the Advancement Office at alum@brooklynfriends.org or by calling 718-852-1029 ext. 206.
